Un-finished Projects

Un-finished flooring is raw wood that must be sanded, stained, and finished after it has been installed in the home. Un-finished wood is more customizable and generally cheaper than pre-finished options but requires more labor than pre-finished options. For those that want an unfinished wood floor the process would look something like this. The un-finished would be left to acclimate in the home for several days before it is laid out and fastened to the subfloor. After the wood has been installed, it would be sanded to ensure that the surface is flat and smooth. Then, your choice of stain would be applied (or not), and then the finish would be applied. The lifecycle of an install can be seen below.
